Second FHA Loan Question

Reggie Lightfoot
Posted
I currently owner occupy one side of a duplex I purchased with an FHA loan about a year ago. I'm looking into purchasing a second rental property (likely another duplex) in which I would again owner occupy a side of for at least 12 months.

My question is: would it be possible to get a second FHA loan for the next property if the loan were to be in both my name and my fiancé's name (she is not on the other loan and still has her FHA loan eligibility available)? Or would we only be able to use a second FHA loan if the loan was solely in her name and excluded mine?

If anyone has experienced this situation or has knowledge, I would appreciate your input!
