D.C. moves to ban natural gas in most new buildings
I am very curious how this plays out as Montgomery County MD is also looking into this. Some of these recommendations clearly are not thought through with engineers in mind since power grids most likely have not even close to enough capacity for something like this.
On the flip side, renters will see significant increases in utility bills once they go from electric to converting to gas for cooking, and if more building systems go to electric it will increase operating costs = increase rents. So much for affordable housing....
