City of Chicago HVAC Inspection

Hi Chicago BP,

My contractor and I scheduled a mid-way HVAC inspection two weeks ago for today, and the inspector did not confirm or show up. The soonest the city website will let us reschedule the inspection is June 8. At this point, we are just waiting to finish the inspection so we can close up the walls and finish the rehab. Does anyone have any insight on how to speed up the inspection process? We can't find a good number to call at the building department to see what the ETA would be.

Thanks!

Alex

@Alex Ferraro

You can call the City: 312-Seven Four Three-3573 and ask to speak with Robert Bernaki, he's the department manager.

Tell them you had an inspection scheduled and the inspector did not show up, and they will usually try to get you rescheduled faster (within the week or sometimes the next day). That is also one benefit to scheduling online is that you receive proof that you already requested the inspection...
