First Time house Hacking in California
Hi everyone, just recently got into the real estate/ house hacking and the FHA rabbit hole and have now decided to try house hacking this year.
Me and my husband’s lease is about to end this September, and we’re in the SoCal area.
So here are my dilemmas/questions:
• Is it wise to do the house hack here in Cali? (Realistically we can’t move to a different state yet since my husband has a job here, so if we don’t go through with the house hack we would still need to rent here)
• How do you find the right team for you, what is your team comprised of, where do you find them, and when should you look for them?
• How early do you need to pay your team? And how much would you say (for Cali pricing) it would cost to build a team for this? Or is it better to go at it alone for now?
• since this is our first time doing this, I would love to know what is the order of actions we need to take. Do we apply for pre-approval from the lenders first? Do I search for a property first? Etc. If it were written as a list item, what would it be?
• How do I know if a property is FHA compatible/approved?
• Has anyone here tried out a grant program? How did it work for you? Is it really possible to get a grant?
I know this is Jam packed with questions so Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer 🙏🏻
