Adding a shower to 1/2 bathroom in basement

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to find out if anyone has added a shower to a 1/2 bathroom and what that might cost?  I'm ball parking for about 10k on low end - Hoping I can help, or do some of the work along the way. The property is just outside Denver in Northwest Aurora, CO. Adding a shower would allow me to have a separate living space from the 2 bed full bath upstairs. Thank you for any insight!

Best regards,

Chris

I would avoid using a pump or putting steps up to the shower. Those are amateur solutions. A plumber can add the drain easily by breaking up the concrete. It took my plumber a couple hours to break up the concrete and have his guys haul it out. It is some added work and expense, but that is how you do the job right. The cost to do the bathroom depends on the full scope of work. I would expect you could have it done for $5K or less. The $10K cost seems on the high end, but if you are moving walls and doing other work it could creep up there.
