Applying for a mortgage

I know that in order to get a mortgage you need to prove you have a reliable source of income and show 2 years of a stedy work history but I have a low income job and was hoping to switch to a better paying one. If I do not have 2 years at working at the same place will I still be able to qualify for a mortgage and if not is there any way I can get around it.

Hey Cameron! You do not have to work at the same job for two years to qualify for a mortgage. When evaluating a borrower's qualifications/eligibility, lenders focus on history of steady employment/pay and your ability to make your mortgage payments. There are also several programs available that exist to assist lower income and first time homebuyers.
