Finding a good deal in the least affordable city in the USA

Hi all, I am looking to buy a house to do a house hack in the next 3 months in Miami, FL. To find a property that would get anywhere close to breaking even on my mortgage payment, I would need to get a great deal. My question to you all is what the best way to find an off market property is? My idea was to go door knocking and ask homeowners if they know anyone looking to sell in the area.

I appreciate all your help everyone. Thanks

This comes from years of experience - door knocking takes a lot of time but it is more personal than a phone call. As a man, it is difficult to get people to open the door or to feel comfortable because a man is a perceived threat. I have knocked on thousands of doors and the ladies always do way better than the men because women are not perceived as a threat. I would suggest calling instead of knocking. I used to be able to door knock about 30 houses in an hour but I could call 100. I then went to Mojo and started using their triple line dialer. I was making about 600 calls a day.
