Realtors and Making first steps into REI

I have recently obtained connections with 2 realtors in Indy. They are assisting me with the hopeful discovery and purchase of my first investment property this year. My questions are - as it pertains to taking my first steps: #1 After acquiring finances for a property from lenders, is it wise to deal with more than one realtor? From what I've been told, realtors often come with high recommendations to their clients for other team players (contractors, inspectors, lawyers, etc). #2 Should I still vet these recommended team players before signing any contracts? I am a little nervous the closer I get to getting pre-approved and actually searching for the home to buy and the process thereafter. I fear being screwed over, loosing money, or not succeeding. I suppose this is some of that paralysis I've heard so much about... thus I am asking along the way from those that have been in my shoes. Any advice would be appreciated :)

Thank you BP!
