Partnership with a contractor.

Hello All, FIrst time actively seeking advice on this forum.

I am a first time investor looking to House hack my way into my first property. I have some questions regarding partnerships. To anyone who has had a similar experience. How do I work a partnership between myself and a friend who is a contractor.  we are looking to do buy and flips together in the near future where we put money together (mostly mine) to buy and use his resources to do the renovations. I want to work with him but I do not know how to approach the partnership on an official level.  on the renovations aspect of things I too will be getting my hands dirty. He is more knowledgeable and has connections with trades.

Addressing the situation as the investor and him strictly as contractor on my delas I have an understanding of. How do I take a relationship like that and make it into one where he is getting compensated with partial ownership or getting a certain percentage of profits made on a deal.

I understand the question is a bit all over the place but I appreciate any and all input from this community of great thinkers. Thank you
