Can someone please explain or suggest, what do i need to do before buying a first rental home to place on rent?

You're going to need to know what you qualify for, so step one is always going to be a preapproval.

After that it's all comparables.

Sales comparables to help you justify your purchase price and rental comps to make sure that your mortgage will be covered by the lease.

You'll want to get your hands on a good lease agreement that protects you as the landlord and maybe start getting a list of contractors together for if/when something goes wrong.
