LOAN APPROVAL INQUIRY

Hi everyone, 

I am an international student working full-time under Optical Practical Training EAD, and I am considering purchasing a multifamily home as an investment property partnering with my uncle, who is a US Citizen. We are currently in the pre-approval process and I was curious about how the pre-approval process works. Since my uncle is already a US citizen, what are the major criteria that the lender would account for loan approval? Is it okay to go and try with any local lenders or it should be the specific foreign loan lender to look for?
