Guidance to get lending for primary residence for business owner
Hoping someone can help guide me, but the basics are neither my wife or I have steady income history, certainly not for the last 2 years. We have owned businesses but I haven't paid myself a real salary until just 6 months ago. But I am the sole owner of our LLC so I'm being advised that my salary from this business is not going to help me in getting financing for a home. We are in a great cash position to be able to put a good down payment, but conversations I've had about getting a mortgage have turned negative real quick just because I don't have a "regular" job. Credit scores for both are excellent. We're looking to buy in the Charlotte area of North Carolina if that makes a difference.
Also, although we have owned homes technically we have never financed a home before, so I'm also unclear on whether we may qualify for any FHA programs since we do want to finance this time around. There's probably much more to unpack than I can write hear, but any help would be appreciated from this community.
