anyone experienced with evictions in quebec?
Hi All, looks like i might need to evict one of my tenants. this is further complicated by the fact that i am living in the same building (its a duplex, i live downstairs they live upstairs). just wondering if anyone has been through this process in quebec recently, and what was your experience with it?
i have a lawyer that i'll be consulting throughout the process, but i'm just wondering if anyone else has some insight to offer. thanks!
I never experience an eviction, but I know that Mélanie Chaperon could help you. She is a lawyer who does a lot of real estate cases.
What is the reason of the eviction ?

many reasons, but primarily late rent and non-payment of rent, smoking the unit, noise at 3am, blocking the driveway with vehicles.. i spoke with a lawyer today, the only way for a quick eviction it looks like will be for non-payment of rent, all other reasons take up to 6 months. they said the best route would probably be to threaten them with eviction over late payments and then offer them a month free rent to get them out by march (carrot and stick approach).
