Does it make sense to choose the local real estate agent?

Hello guys, I need a piece of advice. Let's say I've found a location where buying rental properties seems to be cash flow positive, but it is 1h drive from me. Does it make sense to look for a local real estate, that knows the local market? On the other hand, he is most likely related to the agent that is selling the property (it is a small town). I am afraid my agent is going to be subjective in this case? Does it make sense? Thank you.
