BC Investors, question for you

Devin Solberg
Posted

Hi All,

I’ve come across a property I’d like to make an offer on. It’s listed in BC, with the same brokerage that my Realtors I normally use works at (another Realtor) Any reasons I should use a different brokerage to submit an offer?

@Devin Solberg if you're asking if it is ok to use a realtor from another province I would say no but if I understand your question you're asking should you have a realtor represent you that is not at the same brokerage office as the seller's realtor? I don't think there is a hard-and-fast rule, rather it depends on how much you trust the realtor that you normally use. If it is someone you've used in the past with good success, I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping it all in the same brokerage. Often realtors will prefer keeping deals in the same office to help each other out and, as a buyer, you can get first crack at deals if you go along with that. However, this only works for you as long as you like the deal and are quite sure that you can trust your realtor.
