Sounds proofing between upstair and basement.

Hi

I'm presently added a room in the basement. I'm looking for ways to eliminate as much sound as possible from upstairs. Interested in hearing from anyone that has used dynamat for sound proofing. I was originally going to use heavy duty R value in joists. Any suggestions appreciated?
