Month to month or a year lease?

So I just bought a duplex with a long-term tenant on one side that’s currently on a month-to-month lease don’t know if I should put her on a year lease or keep it the same?

Hey @Korey Howell! Personally I'd keep the inherited tenant on month to month until I was comfortable that they would be a good tenant and then address the lease length. That way you've got a way out if it ends up being a bad situation. Good luck!
