New York City Tub Requirements

My family's 3 unit prewar building in Brooklyn recently had plumbing issues and I'm debating renovating each of the bathrooms. The bathrooms are very narrow so I was wondering if there's a requirement to have a bathtub. I've found conflicting information online. If I can replace the bathtub with a shower, I'd be able to make the bathroom feel larger.
