Property Management Company vs Self-managing property in CA
Hello, would you hire a property management company or just manage the property yourself if the property is located on the other coast? We live in New Hampshire and have a rental in California. Anyone in the same situation? What do you prefer? Thank you!

Hi @Jen Breysler, I live in CA and have a PM for my OOS properties - that is what I prefer.
Things to consider when self-managing: You must be knowledgeable about landlord laws in the state your property is in. Have a good team on the ground in the event of emergencies (HVAC, plumber, etc). Know that you will get phone calls / texts when something goes wrong or if your tenant is having issues w the property, etc.
It all boils down to personal preference, goals, etc.
Good luck!
