Prorating my new property tax bill.
Hello everyone,
I purchased a building March 1st, 2023, the tenant has been paying $999.42 a month toward the property tax bill. I just received the bill the first half was due 11/01/2023 and the second half is due 2/01/2024. The building assessment price was adjusted, and I received a second bill due 12/11/23 and 4/10/24. My tenant is on a NNN lease and pays the adjusted property tax my question is when should I start prorating for the new tax amount and when do I charge for the outstanding tax bill that I am currently facing.
Original property tax bill: 11/01/23 - $6,107.23
2/01/24 - $6,107.23
Supplemental bill: 12/11/23 - $5020.83
4/10/24 - $5020.83
