Former PM charged rent after contract terminated

I terminated my Agreement with my former PM on February 27th, asking to cancel immediately or consider this message my 30-day notice.  They acknowledged to my new PM that they received my notice and wanted their 30 days, so essentially all of March.  In March, I received no owner disbursement despite the rent being paid and they initiated a repair of over $500 that I didn't authorize.  (This is the 3rd time and one of the many reasons I left.)  On April 6th, they charged rent to the tenant, took their PM fee, and settled any remaining charges.   Was that action legal?   If our Agreement terminated on March 31st, is that acting without agency on my behalf?  Should they have just disbursed the proceeds to me and then forward any remaining invoices to the new PM?   Thank you in advance for any insight.
