Trying to become a STR manager
I recently got my real estate license. Found a broker who was interested in the Vacation Rental business. He basically has two businesses under one roof. His real estate/property management business and then an auction business. We called the state today to find out what all we had to do. They basically told him that he couldn't because he would have to start a new business and he couldn't have three different businesses under one roof. He couldn't put it under the property management business unless he restructured it and that would mean his current agents would have to stop all selling until that was finalized. I never did understand why he could not do short term management in his current property management business.
Basically, what I am looking to find out is how, or is there a way around this? How can we make this work without having to create a new business in a different location?
Thanks
