CAASTLC - Weatherization Assistance Program
Hello BP World,
So far I have 15 rental units in South City Saint Louis Missouri. Recently, one of our boilers went out so we immediately provided space heaters as we aggressively search for furnace installation bids. However, I came across the CAASTLC (and others) - Weatherization Assistance Program and I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with it? My eyes sort of lit up at the possibilities at scale especially when acquiring 2-4s partially occupied in need of value ad. I also got to thinking that we should perhaps audit each of our units before each winter to see what components/tenants could be eligible which would have otherwise been major capex items.
It appears that investors can qualify if the tenant makes less than 200% of the poverty level. However, it seems like there are different groups responsible for administering this each with different guidelines.
One only works with landlords if 50% of my tenants qualify
Another one works with landlords and only cares if 1 tenant qualifies
Urban League Group appears to be landlord friendly if you have qualified tenants
Any input or guidance on this is much appreciated!
