Hello,

I'm looking to purchase my first rental  in Cleveland and I want to start meeting with property managers.

Any advice on a good PM in the area?

Thanks!

Welcome aboard Angela. What part of Cleveland are you looking at? What types of properties?

Sorry I replied to the post but not directly to you. I am just learning how to use this forum my bad! The home is located in Cleveland between East 185-200th

You'll wanna be careful over there. It can be hit or miss in that part of town.

Hit or miss on property managers? Sorry I’m a bit confused on what you’re inferring. Are you familiar with the area?

Very familiar with the area, I manage a $75 million dollar rental portfolio in Cleveland. A lot of blight and crime in some of the neighborhoods out that way. Give The Ultimate Guide to Grading Cleveland Neighborhoods a read. That should help you out.

That is a great resource for maybe those out of town investors who aren't super familiar with Cleveland. My concern is that it may be a bit dated since the market is different then it was 5 years ago and some developments have been happening in Cleveland since it was written. I appreciate your concern for my business but I am going to move forward with my choice in location as my family has lived in that neighborhood for over 60 years, I do not live far from there and have worked in that neighborhood for some time and over that time got to meet lots of the residents. I also keep active in some of the local community organizations in the Collinwood and Euclid neighborhoods and can attest to the strong ownership mentality of the people living in the 44119. As for the crime in the area, there is crime everywhere in Cleveland even in Little Italy and Tremont. I am not getting into the investing game to just make money off of people who need to rent, but I am more focused on bringing back the neighborhood that has been home to my family for decades and be apart of a positive change in the community.
