Hello all my BP friends.

I had this though while driving for dollars and thought I would put it out there to see what people think or have experienced.

While driving around Portland, OR looking for distressed homes or possible vacant homes to contact...I had the thought. What if a house looks terrible and it is just the way the person likes to live? Then they start getting all these letters saying "I drove by your house at ____ and noticed it appears to be vacant/distressed...". Maybe the person just has not had the time to get outside and paint or something? It seems that would start to be a silent way of saying "Your house looks like crap...can I buy it!?" haha

Anyone have any exciting responses to this situation in any markets?

(Note: This is mostly in play and curiosity to see what people are dealing with in contacting home owners. I realize that contacting many distressed properties will get some good and some bad results. I just like to put myself in the home owner's shoes.)
