There are 2 homes coming up on my local sheriffs sale site that I ma interested in. I was wondering if anyone has ever approached these properties on a purchase before it goes to sale and had success? What worked?

I was thinking about sending them a letter and setting up a google voice number.

Also be careful. I'm a HUGE fan of door knocking. However, I think twice about doorknocking sheriff sales. Some people have gotten killed while approaching the door with the sheriff ready to forcibly evict (an Investor in ATL comes to mind). I would approach cautiously as you do not want homeowners thinking you're the greedy investor coming to remove them from your home. I'm not trying to scare you - just warn you to be careful.
