Furnished short- or long term let vs unfurnished

Bethany Petrova
Posted

I have a 3 bed single family investment property in Bremerton, right next to the naval base. Trying to figure out if I should rent it furnished or unfurnished, short term or long term, room by room or all together. I’ve had success using Airbnb on another rental, but in Pierce County, and it was part of my home, not an entire separate property. Anyone had luck renting furnished spaces in Bremerton, or entire houses all together?

@Bethany Petrova we have been successful with renting out half of our duplex furnished when while living out of town for part of the year. The house is in Manette and we did a three month lease recently. I think there is a market for shorter lease terms do to all the government associated people coming and going.

I haven't done a short term rental yet, but I guess it just depends on your appetite for hassle. I would probably keep it as a long term rental since it would be pretty easy to get a solid tenant in there from the yard or Navy.
