Law of Reciprocity: Sending $1 in mail marketing

Just a random though and curious if anyone ever heard of someone doing this. I remember receiving an envelope with a dollar in it requesting some sort of business or donation as a kid. I'm curious if anyone has ever sent out $1 bills to potential sellers in the letter?

In the book Influence, he (and many others) have talked about the Law of Reciprocity. Just curious if this might motivate someone to contact you. I'm handwriting letters because my budget is small and i'm just getting started but i have private money ready to invest.

Thanks for your feedback
