Investor's Value Statement
As an investor in the current market, I am committed to having a clear sense of my "why" for being in this business, and how that "why" translates into value (benefit) for our investors. I would like to read from other BP members what is their Value Statement.
When you meet someone and they ask, "what do you do?" the Value Statement will in short order, let the questioner know that you are someone that might have a solution to their problem (benefit).

Charles, I think you may have read too many books on "politically correct marketing". With only a very few exceptions, all people in the real estate business are in it to earn a profit. Secondary reasons may have to do with rebuilding the community, creating a downtown, providing low income housing, etc. However, to state these as your primary "Value Statement" sounds contrivedand reeks of wanting to appear socially correct. Further, if you do not state that making a profit is your primary purpose, and do state other purposes, it appears to be and is somewhat dishonest.
I personally am tired of hearing about Exxon's committment to the environment, Ford wanting to bring excellence to Detroit and Walmarts dedication to bringing consumers the lowest prices. While some of this may be true, profit motive is paramount. This is as it should be - the economy works best and most efficently when the motive is profit. For profit enterprises should proudly state such, and stop trying to satisfy the anti free market groups with self serving statements of "greater altruistic" purpose.

While I share Don's sentiments about rational self-maximization being the primary motivator I also find it helpful to have a slogan that makes for a nice conversation starter. Mine is in my signature:
"I help busy people profit from real estate"
Bryan
What about the people who are not that busy but would like to be..JK
I like your statement. I looked into your company and what you do and I aspire to get to that level. I will be following your post
