How Long is Inherited List Good for mailings?

IF one has a list of inherited properties, how long should one mail to the list?  Should you continue to mail to the same list for over a year?  If they inherited it, they presumably still own it, and may want to sell.  Anyone had any success mailing to an older inherited list?  Or just for the first few months?  This is inherited, not probate list.

Thanks,
