Attorney "stealing" deals??

Hello,
I was talking with a investor friend the other day and he told me he stopped marketing to probates b/c he found out the attorneys were passing the leads on to other investors. Anyone have any experience with this or know if it goes on? A guy named Dennis from Texas had a good idea I might try. He said to get a referral from an attorney you've done business with and send a letter w/ the referral to the probate attorneys. That way you are in the club so to speak.
See ya
