Hand Written Addressed Envelopes - Worth the Extra Expense/Time?

I know there's a lot of you killing it out there on direct mail. Do you find there's payoff for hand written addressed envelopes?

My theory is that my call back percentage will increase, but the quality of the calls will decrease and thus a similar conversion to deals will not necessarily pay for the added expense of hand addressing.

If context is needed to answer, I'm probably just going to send a colored #10 envelope to a variety of lists.
