Should I leave my current job to work within a "real estate" job?

Hello Investors!

This is my first post and I want to say thank you to everyone who provides great information here at BP. I've been listening to podcasts/reading blogs/forum/etc. for over a year now & you are all great.

To the point: I have a few rental houses and want to continue to expand my buy & hold portfolio within the Seattle-Tacoma metro. I'm currently a small business banker and make between 60k-70k and have been considering leaving small business banking to a job that is more in the real estate field to learn more about real estate & build my network.

I don't want to be a real estate broker now and I feel like ill be taking a pay cut since i don't have official real estate "education" but maybe it'll be worth it. I've been looking around the last few months but if any of you have any advice, that would be great!

Thanks,

Vernie
