Old friend from Elementary School wants to meet to discuss RE

I have a old elementary friend who wants to meet with me to discuss RE. He now owns or is a partner in a investment company/financial company and wants to know how he can maybe refer clients to me. We are meeting him at 9am and I don't know if he is trying to sell me some financial product or wants to invest with me. I will defiantly sell him on me and my company but how does someone position something like this?

Thanks for any ideas of how someone off the street could invest with me or how to position it. I know there are laws.
