Duplicate names but different Mailing address...

Hello BP,

I have a quick question regarding duplicates on a listsource list.

So I purchased an Absentee list a month ago and when I purchased it I made sure to click the duplicate button before the purchase.  Now looking at the list harder I see that I have a few of the same names on there but different mailing addresses.  Should I just go ahead and send my marketing piece to both addresses even though they are the exact same name?  They are very unique names too, not like a John Smith or anything so I know it's the same person.

Thank you very much...

You might also consider NOT removing duplicates. The reason I say this is that each row represents a different absentee owned property, so if you see the same name multiple times, it is because they own multiple properties. By removing duplicates you get no insight into this, other than a couple of stragglers where for some reason there are different mailing addresses (the problem you are asking about).

With the duplicates you can sort your list and change the wording of your letter to better match the specific target. Why? Better results. Think just for a minute about how you'd approach someone with 10 houses vs. 1 and you'll quickly realize it shouldn't be the same.
