First Direct Mail Campaign

First off, i would like to thank the community of BP for the amount of good information I've been filling my empty head with over the last few months or so. I'm also excited to say that i'm planning my first direct mail campaign! "planning" (if i wimp out i want someone to throw a shovel at my head.) Being 19 and broke, my idea is to send handwritten postcards to absentee owners through listsource seeing as that seems like the cheapest route to go, after trying to drive for dollars with no success (and with quite a bit of embarrassment i might add.) Right now i have $593... i just counted, and i know i need to save quite a bit more. But what my question is to keep it short is -

What are the absolute essential tools i'll need to structure a good wholesaling marketing campaign and how much will it cost? I'm talking crm, google voice for phone numbers, postcards stamps or just general tools to make life easier and i can set up before sending letters. Also I'm thinking sending 400 letters with 800 backup for follow up will be sufficient, does this seem like the best way to proceed?

Thank you Thank you Thank you, Seriously

-Sam
