*HOUSE HACKING IN HAWAII*

Still have another 2 years before I am even legally able to do this, but I have been reaching Hawaii RE all week and noticed that not all houses have to be $1,000,000+ to live there, but do you think that this could be a good place to house hack? Hilo (which on the east side of the big island) seems to be a great market for long term apprection and cash flow as the median home price is almost $300,000 with a population of 45,000 and growing. Back in the 40s and 80s there was a storm that hit and wiped out most of the small city, so do you think that it might deter people from living there, or do you think that may even be a issue? Finally, would you recommend a duplex or something possibly a bit bigger?
