Yellow Letters Paper Jam

I searched the forums and didn't see an answer to this question. Hopefully someone can help.

I'm working on printing my yellow letters and my printer jams about every 3rd sheet of paper. I'm using 16 lb paper and I didn't tear it off the legal pads so there's no glue at the ends. I checked the stats on my printer and it says it can handle 16 lb paper at the very minimum.

Has anyone had this problem? I can't find any heavier paper in the yellow letter style. Do I need a better printer?

Thanks!

There are some on BiggerPockets who do this, including Michael Quarles and Jerry Puckett. I outsource my yellow letters to Jerry and have had results way beyond my expectations.
