Applicant screening for college students
Just a few questions for other landlords who primarily rent to college students.
Should we require proof / documentation of their financial aid since they can't supply proof of income 3x monthly rent? Should we get parents to co-sign? Are credit checks necessary for this younger population?
Thank you!

@Kristen Cabildo I would suggest getting documentation of their financial aid as well as asking their parents to co-sign. Like most others mentioned, college students do not really have income or any credit history established, so screening them would not be as helpful as knowing how they're going to pay their rent every month.
