Choosing a tenant

Question on choosing a tenant.  In my listing, I posted a minimum credit score and income.  I've had multiple qualified applicants.  There is one applicant whose credit score is below the minimum but fits the income needs.  They have excellent payment history, and their credit can be explained with a history of opening several credit cards and a brief period during covid with a few missed payments.  They also are military (we're near a base) and we don't have any concerns about payments.  Is it discrimination to other qualified applicants if we were to choose someone that was slightly below the posted credit minimum?  Or would we just need to have a good reason for whatever decision we make?
