Screening International Tenant

Genesis Guevara
Posted

Hello,

Bought my first home and decided to start House Hacking: interviewed with a wonderful lady who is Canadian. How would I go about screening her? I can ask her for pay stubs and employer contact info but she currently owns her own home so she won't have a tenant reference. Should I just ask for a copy of her passport/visa on top of the pay stubs? If that's legal.... Any advice is helpful.

Checked online for Canadian screening and found SingleKey and ApplyCheck. Hoping someone has good experience with either of these or recommends something else.
