Tenant Screening through property management

Posted

Hi All,

I am a prospective new landlord and in the tenant screening process phase through my property management.

The PM checks for 650+ credit score and 3x income rental ratio.

But I would also like to do some due diligence on my side to know about their rental history, and bank statements etc.

Unfortunately the PM says that they are not allowed to share details (both names as well as , even information whether its a family or not) sinec they are constrained by FHA laws.

Please provide suggestions as to how to go around this. I dont want to end up in a scenario where the tenant becomes a liability.
