EverGrande defaluts on their $600B USD debt

Hello BP community,

Curious what you macro experts out there make of what's occurring in China right now. Evergrande has defaulted on its payments as their debt crossed $600B USD. I'm curious how that may impact real estate in the US and what signal that is to the global macro picture.

Thanks,

Tim

I just remember watching those shows where there are billion dollar plus developments built in china sitting empty.

and Last time I was in Singapore we scooted over to Maylasia and you should have seen all the high rises there basically
1/4 sold or mainly empty .. Not sure 600B moves the needle much in china.
