Honestly, I don't trust anything that's pumped out be media outlets these days. Doesn't really matter if it comes from a left, right or center point of view. Just stay in my lane and keep going.
The same card can be played in any investment:
- It's not fair some people get a bunch of real estate, because some have none.
- It's not fair some people have millions/billions in stocks, because some people can't invest at all.
- It's not fair some people have 100k in the bank, because some people don't even have a savings account.
- It's not fair some people have a high paying job, because some people work minimum wage.
- It's not fair some people have _____, becuase some people have none.
There are multiple factors that contribute to this problem, but we live in a society of victimhood. Sadly rooted in my generation (millenials). We were propped up that we could be anything we wanted, then when we became adults we suddenly realized that you actually have to work and learn to get what you want. But instead of taking personal responsibility, we blamed the previous generations for setting us up for failure. In other words, it's always someone else's fault and the more of a victim you can make yourself, the more privileged you ought to be.
Guess what? Life's not flippin' fair, it's hard. We live in a country with more upward mobility than ANY OTHER COUNTRY in the world. If you want something, figure out how to go get it.
One point in my life, I didn't eat for a week because I couldn't afford food. Did I blame anyone? Yes - I blamed myself for having poor financial education. I pulled myself up, started a personal training business and funded myself through that stage of life. If I blamed anyone else, how is that going to help me? It won't.
In the great words of my dad, "Suck it up. Figure it out."
Tangent and rant over.
