Meet Ups During Pandemic

I'm new to REI.

I’ve got a pretty consistent start in my learning that has yet to lose my interest. In other words, I’m fired up about building wealth through real estate.

I do not want this fire to go away - and I think being able to see it with my own eyes and talk to people firsthand who have the experience is what I need at this point. I’ve read How to Invest in Real Estate, The Book on Rental Property Investing, The book on House Hacking, Rich Dad Poor Dad, as well as a ton of other information on BIggerPockets Forums and elsewhere. I want to take the next step and start networking.

This is going to sound funny and against CDC’s recommendation but are there any meet ups happening (anywhere) during the quarantine? I’m in Los Angeles, but frequently fly back to St. Louis, Missouri once every three weeks.

Is there any other advice someone can give me as far as what to do next? I just want to keep the ball rolling. I’m open to advice.

@Carl Flint I think virtual is the way to go right now for the next 2-4 months. We are almost there and there are some good virutal meet ups out there depending on the topic you are looking for. If you swing through KC on any of your trips, let me know. Happy to help out!

I absolutely agree with you that in-person meetups are way more interactive and productive.

Have you checked out Meetup.com? Here in KC, we have only a couple of monthly meetups, but here are some I found in St. Louis.

https://www.meetup.com/Real-Es...

https://www.meetup.com/St-Loui...

Use filters to select "in person" and key word "real estate", and it should pull the good ones.

@Alex Olson

That's what I was assuming. Are there any virtual meetings you can refer me to? To be honest, as long as its about REI then I will be interested.

As of right now I see a lot of investors  attending club house meet ups. Club house is just an app that you can basically hold a visual conference on. Ive recently been trying to look for other investors around my age just to keep myself motivated and share great conversations.

Look at all these active KC agents/investors in this thread. Maybe I should start another meetup here!
