Where should I start?

Hello everyone. I am brand new on the journey of investing in real estate. (Still in the gathering information phase).  I signed up on here to acquire more information and I've been reading and listening to whatever I can get my hands on.  Do any seasoned investors have advice on what I can read or how I can get started?  We plan on moving in a year or so and so the house we're living in will be our first rental property.  My husband thinks we should buy a course to learn more.  I'm fine with doing it if it's legitimate but I was hoping to get some feedback to see if it's necessary because I know there are a lot of scams out there.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.  Also if anyone can share how they first got started, that would be awesome!
