conflict of interest?

Hi, I have a 3 single family on contract that has both a garage that I'll someday renovate into a cabin (on the river) and a little studio that I'll live in myself. Looking at Air BB for short term rental of house and in the future on the cabin.  I got permission to have a handyman come look at the house and several projects. I told this guy all my plans, why I needed certain things done.  At the end of the conversation he realizes he knows the listing agent and informs me he's going to call him on the leaking fittings in the basement and that he shut off the main water valve to stop the leaks.  But I felt uncomfortable feeling that it should be me who calls my own agent to pass along the information.  Handyman went on to explain that listing agent is a good friend of his.  Now, we've already reached an agreement on price after the inspection. But the appraisal isn't until this weekend and the deal is still pending.  This is a small town, my own realtor said everyone knows everyone here, especially all us in real estate. But now that handyman may tell my bigger plans with the cabin to those who will repeat it.  Is this a problem, or do I just accept it as is?  Thanks!
