Interested in real estate and property renting
I have read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and I am currently reading/listening to "The audiobook on Rental Property Investing" by Brandon Turner. I am in love with the idea of Rental Property Investing. I am only on chapter 5 of Brandon's book but I love it.
He suggested in his book that I get on the Bigger Pockets forums early. I want to learn as much as I can and read as many books on the subject there is. I don't plan to buy any properties right away (hopefully next year), but I want to get started early. I don't plan to quit my job, but my goal is to make enough to match my monthly income from that job.
I am Salt Lake City, UT and any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Congratulations!
Sounds like you are off to a great start in educating yourself. Bigger pockets is an amazing resource for information.
Do you have a specific goal in mind yet or route you plan to take? Personally, I think one of the best ways to get started is to househack. If you have the ability to move every year or 2, you could purchase owner occupied. Obtain financing with low money down again and again to start building your portfolio. I am also a big fan of BRRRR method.
I suggest besides reading and absorbing as much general information, that you also focus on learning locally about your specific market. Start watching homes for sale to get an idea of the market, rental listings and prices, city and zoning rules etc. I am super passionate about real estate investing. Everyone should do it ! That’s awesome you are actually taking steps towards accomplishing it.
