Oklahoma City - Now the lowest unemployment in the nation

Hey BP,

Just wanted to take this opportunity to bring to everyone's attention that the OKC metro now has the lowest unemployment in the country of metro's with 1 million+ people.

Unemployment dropped from 6.2% in March to 5.2% in April. We are now ahead of Washington D.C. (which IMHO was fake unemployment anyway, with all the jobs being created by the government).

For anyone looking for a new place to invest, maybe you should consider OKC!

It's been a while in the making. I posted a video in my blog with the Mayor of OKC. He outlines some long term projects.

Another driving force is the energy industry. Our top three industries are energy, agriculture, and interestlingly enough, tourism. Our city has been undergoing major cosmetic changes, brought an NBA team in (who is now the second round of the playoffs - attendance for the SEASON was 99.7% of capacity). We have olympic athletes training on our Oklahoma City River (they are training for rowing - we have the newest and arguably the best rowing training facility in the nation with the completion of the $10 million Devon Boathouse).

The cool thing is, most of these projects are paid for before they are started. Little to no debt. The OKC Arena has no debt, the boathouse row has no debt. Big money working downtown without having to borrow.
