National Sales VS Foreclosure Statistics?

Jenny Mader
Posted

I've been trying to to find the foreclosure sales statistics. Sure, we see that 300,000 homes were foreclosed one month, then 240,000 the next, and then 200,000 the next. And people jump for joy since the rate of foreclosures is dropping...

Would you celebrate if instead of accruing a $1000/mo in interest fees you only accrued $900/mo in interest fees. All the while, your balance just ticked up from $10000 to $15000 over the course of a few months?

Anyway, chances are the foreclosure sales are still being outpaced by the foreclosure filings. It will be a long time before we dig ourselves out of this hole. If someone can find numbers on sales/filings I'd like to see that.
